What this notice covers
This is the personal website of Behshad Beheshti. This notice explains information handling on behshad.com, including the professional pages, enterprise transformation stories, and Behshad’s Ballot Compass. External sites have their own privacy practices.
Information from your visit
The main personal website does not require an account, offer a mailing-list signup, accept payments, or provide an on-site contact form. You can read the pages without submitting your name or contact details.
The production site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub records visitors’ IP addresses for security, whether or not they are signed into GitHub. See GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
Understanding how the site is used
I use GoatCounter to understand page visits and general interactions, such as navigation and opening links. Reports can include referring sites, browser and device categories, screen sizes, and approximate location.
GoatCounter’s visitor analytics do not use cookies or browser storage. Its service temporarily processes IP addresses and browser information to distinguish visits; it says it does not store raw IP addresses. See GoatCounter’s privacy information for details about its processing and hosting.
The site’s custom analytics events use fixed activity labels. They do not include messages, search text, ballot notes, voter selections, or priorities. This site does not use advertising pixels or sell visitor information for advertising.
Ballot Compass and your browser
Ballot Compass saves choices, notes, priorities, and selected settings in your browser’s local storage so you can return to them. The application does not send that saved content to me through its analytics. It can remain on the device until you clear the site’s browser data, and other people using the same browser profile may be able to access it.
Clearing browser data removes saved progress. Browser privacy settings or content blockers may also limit analytics or local storage.
External services and contact
Some pages load images from third-party hosts, including Unsplash and Wikimedia. Those hosts receive the network information needed to deliver the images, such as your IP address and browser details. Links to LinkedIn, election offices, research sources, and other websites take you to services with their own policies.
If you contact me through LinkedIn, LinkedIn handles that interaction under its own privacy policy. I receive the profile information and message you choose to share and may retain the conversation to respond or follow up. Please do not send passwords or other sensitive information.
Your choices and questions
Depending on the law that applies to you and the information involved, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion, or to object to certain uses. You can contact me through LinkedIn with a privacy question or request. Please explain what information or interaction your request concerns.
I may not be able to identify an individual in aggregate analytics reports. Hosting and analytics providers manage their own records and retention practices, as described in their policies. Information voluntarily shared in a conversation is kept as needed for that conversation, related follow-up, or applicable obligations.
Changes to this notice
I will update this page if the site’s features or information practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
